Title: game still going strong? Post by: rip|buzinator on April 24, 2006, 06:57:47 AM So - is EQ2 worth picking up at this point?
that is, how far through it's expected life-cycle is it? I'm considering it but i'm not too certain, if it's getting long in the tooth or whatever. Title: game still going strong? Post by: rip|syphonics on April 26, 2006, 09:45:07 PM I played eq1 for over 6 years before I quit.
I transfered over to eq2 when it first started. I personally felt that EQ2 was more designed for people who didn't want much of a learning curve. Everything seems controlled in this game. In EQ1 you could pretty well do what ever you wanted. In EQ2 I always felt like some one was holding hand so to speak. I had a 30sk troll, that I left in the Dust to ROTT. heh Great graphics, excellent quests, but boring combat, and redundant play machanics. Press this button, then that button. *BORING*. heh In EQ1 you actually had to have skill, know what spells to use, understand what they did. Combat was alot more complex also. I hope that helps BUZ =) Title: game still going strong? Post by: rip|buzinator on April 27, 2006, 06:44:17 AM Interesting notes, Sy, thx.
I get what you are saying - though it's probably is ok for me, as i'd probably need a bunch of hand holding. Title: game still going strong? Post by: Hildar on July 28, 2006, 06:43:21 PM There is currently a free look offer going on for EQ2, make sure you join the Blackburrow server if you do and want to stay. Walkers Guild is there awaiting.
