Well I only played two maps last night and here are my first impressions.

A10 Warthog:  Pretty bad - The A10 in DC was 10 times better.  It takes pretty long to take out a tank with the minigun and you only get 4 bombs which 2 drop at one time.  One from under each wing.  Aiming to hit a tank from the center of the plane is not a good idea and you won't hit anything since the bombs are out on the wings.  Another thing about the bombs is they should be cluster bombs and drop one at a time.
The A10 in real life is built like a tank and can still fly with a lot of damage.  Not here.  Flares are useless.  One AA tank can take out an A10 in about 2-3 seconds.  DW shot me down multiple times and he did it with ease.

I didn't get a chance to fly the counter part of the A10 since everyone was plane whoring.

Driving semi-truck is pretty lame and one Anti tank missle will take it out.  Might as well just drive a jeep.  

The road rally map is cool.  The farm map is OK, there are no planes in it but there are choppers.  I didn't play the other map.

i like road rage and the farm map...i think you can get good with the planes its just giong to take strategy..like taking control of the aa guns or mobile aa vech's....

Well I didnt play the other Booster Pack but IMHO I think this booster pack rocks but I forsee it dieing out like the other packs once the newness wears off. I like the maps except for the fact that playing with less than 32 on 32 would be useless. There are not enought choppers campared to how big the maps are. I played all three maps and pretty much liked them all. I didn't get to use the new choppers much because like Jackal said people were being whores.

P.S. it was awsome trying to hold the bridge point on the road rage map!

P.S.S. did any one find the muscle car?

"AA definitely is more of a factor in AF, with the jets being slower, sluggish, and much larger targets (flak is genuinely useful now), but getting guaranteed kills on tanks with the plane seems to be a bit easier, especially since you've got more time to line up your gun. I think they've made the AA just a *tiny* bit too powerful though (now they're going to dominate the sky), as it seems like the flares on the attack jets don't work terribly well--anyone else have this prob? Anyway if the flares were effective then I think it would be the perfect balance--since AA can also use flak instead of just missiles, AA would get a good shot, but the plane would still have a reasonable chance of getting away in one piece as long as he takes his time to reload flares and repair (landing if necessary, which also seems easier to do) before each pass. I was able to take out a mobile AA with a SU-39 but only when I got the jump on him from directly above.. most other times he got me.

It's on the map near the water, it's away from any flags. You'll see the vehicle icon on the map. (It's Operation Midnight Sun, 32 or 64)

pros of armor fury:
the A10 gun, while it is severely nerfed, does not overheat.
the littlbird is pretty tight

no plane's gun overheats.

the gun in the Su34 takes out a tank in half that time.

It is more like 3-4 seconds for the A10 to take out a tank.  Still way too long.  A 5-10 round burst is all it should take, but then again people would complain that it is too powerful.
That is what they are designed for - killing tanks with 30mm depleted uranium armor peircing rounds.

one of the tatics I have came up with using the little bird is to land it a few yards away from the flag and run up the flag, it helps alot since there several place that you can hide that little bird. You can hide it behind the shopping mall and run and jump in a tank take the flag while being protected by the tank and then hop back in and do the samething. That little bird can not take a direct hit from anything except maybe a knife or pistol.

One question though, why do we have our maps set on 64 players when our server will only hold 32? Is there a big difference between the 32 and 64 maps?

Question.....It's only ten dollars guys.  If you love battlefield 2 enough to join a clan, you should love it enough to buy armored fury right?  Crap you can even get special forces for $20 now.  It is definately worth the money.  Operation Harvest reminds me of the farm land in Iowa I grew up on.  Except for the war part.  I did have a tank on my dairy farm though.    :P

A10 carries a maximum of 1350 rounds.  You do the math.

They (EA) needs patches for AF.  Too much damage on all vehicles when you graze something.

The plane is pretty cool, I think it should hold more bombs and drop more bombs too.

If you can't afford $10, then get a real job or get on a budget.

the anti-tank planes are pretty easy if you dont have the damn aa's fucking with you, that's why when i see one I make it personal to kill them.

I am guessing they didn't change any code from the origional game..... so they have 2 slow ass planes and the same AA that can easily take out F35s, Migs, etc.  Can you say WTF?

Got the vet AA badge on Road Rage last night.  Incredibly easy, but not necessarily because of the speed of the A-10s.  Whoever was consistantly flying the Little Bird was a knuckle head, so half my kills were right there.  (I finished only two or three away from expert.   :x  Damn opponents died to fast.)  There are plenty of spots, though, where the AA can hide, take out a plane, then speed on up to another little hidey hole.  It's even better on the Harvest map, since there are plenty of treelines to hide in and roll along.  Hell, on RR, the only two times I got bombed was while cruising down the highway.

AF is not bad but it seems skewed toward air dominance.  They should have titled it "Airborne Fury" instead.  I was hoping for maps with big tank battles without choppers or planes -- kind of like karkand with an open area.  The maps seem more reminiscent of the big area Chinese maps more than anything else.  Air just runs rampant.  But wherever the clan goes... I'll go.
