Title: vent lag
Post by: Riptor27 on June 29, 2008, 08:22:23 AM
Hey i was just wondering if it was just me or other people. But it seems to take a while from the time i press my push to tal key and the time i hear the little sound to say that i am trasmitting. Is there anyhting i can do to fix that? or am i just going to have to deal with it?

yeah, that's probably more a result of having to access the wav file from hard disk.

you could always turn that feature off if it's bugging you.

i have mine turned off but it still seems to lagg a little bit. someone was also saying in a wic game that you need to have the right codec in order for there to be no static or bg noise when its quiet and to be able to hear clearly. what codec should be used and should everyone use the same one or dose it vary for each microphone and persons computer. also in regards to the lagg is there anyway to reduce it as much as possible cuz i do notice it laggs alot between the time i say something and the time someone responds. a couple seconds at least. still enough time to make a diff.

The codec is set on the server ... I can try different settings or a different codec if people are generally having probs...

yeah the guy said that it wasn't a default codec and you needed to download it. but he didn't say what it was or where to get it even.
