Title: GRID racers are faster with momo wheel , why?
Post by: Jumbo1234 on July 01, 2008, 04:19:24 PM
I have noticed that the people who drives with wheel are much faster than us , who are driving with rumblepad . For example i had 8 sec advantage in Nurbungring , (BMC1000) , and the guy was shaving off 2 sec on half a lap , so he managed to catch me in two laps , and overtake me on the straight line like i was no there at all . But the more odd thing is , that he was faster when he was behind me , and when he overtaked me he continued to be faster (although game give little advantage to the ones behind (slipstream)). I am so curious why is that possible , thank you for answer .

If it's like the previous game, Toca3, the various axes of the wheel give you more throttle, brake and steering travel.
it's lame of MC to do that, but true ... full throttle on a wheel is full throttle ... full throttle on a console controller ... isn't.

I remember a guy made a youtube vid demonstrating the differences between controllers. If i can find that i'll post it.

a wheel does really give you an advantage, but you have to look out for the guys who have the "global" flag out by their name. i think there was one racing with us Jumbo when you were asking the question. he was riding on rails and i dont think he was getting the advantage from a wheel i think he was getting from some hax
