Whoa...that's pretty cool. I can't quite understand what he's saying about the tyre change though..."come back after 11 years" is what it sounds like he's saying? I don't get it :S

Traditionally they always ran slicks.

but in the late 90's they introduced grooved tires in an attempt to reduce grip levels and promote overtaking (i think - the whole thing was retarded-commitee generated and was a bit mis or un guided).

It didn't work and they are now finally admitting that increasing mechanical grip is the way to get better competition (overtaking) ... grip induced through aerodynamics is what has been causing the lack of overtaking.

Ahh, ok. Makes sense now. Nothing on my usage of "tyre" though. You disappoint me.
