Title: Gran Turismo 5 is sounding more kick ass every day (new info)

Details in a nutshell:

- The IRL will join the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the World Rally Championship as third high-profile series license in GT5.

- GT 5 will include over 1000 cars, all of which will be having a fully modelled cockpit-view

- Both night racing and weather effects will make their debut in a GT-series title

- All cars will have deformation damage, race cars will be having detachable parts and interior damage visible in cockpit view too

- GT5 will run in 1080p HD resolution at 60fps, maxing out the Playstation 3’s abilities according to Polyphony Digital

- The game will include both classical petrol-powered cars as well as green approaches including hybrids and fully-electrical cars like the Tesla Roadster

- The game’s online mode is planned to support up to 16 players

I wish it was, but the unfortunately reality is that they're going to sell millions of copies of this game, probably more than all other PC racing releases for the last 2-3 years combined.

i would have to agree with chitty. They will probably sell a few more ps3's also. Maybe if my end of the year bonus is good enough I grab it and a ps3.....

O M G

Something has to be seriously jacked around.  I get that there's a ton of stuff coming out at the end of March, but this has too be right near the top of the pile.

Maybe Sony asked them to push it back to not interfere with God of War 3 which was supposed to release at the same time being that both series are PS3 exclusives.

yes this sux...even though the march release was for japan only, now they dont know when it will be released.

does anyone else think 60mil is a lot to spend on an exclusive?

I wonder if that 60m included Prologue.  If that "demo" sold 3.5m at $30 (~$100m total revenue), they should easily be able to get 3.5m sales at $50 for the real deal (~$200m total revenue).  But the real game is going to sell more than prologue... so yeah $60m to make $300m-$400m ain't too shabby.
