Title: IZOD IRL - Round 1 - Brazil
Post by: rip|mrkavanagh on March 17, 2010, 08:24:49 AM
So who watched this race? Pretty damn exciting race especially the first turn on the first lap. I guess they never got Buz's words of wisdom. "You can't win in the first turn, but you can lose in the first turn", of you have to say it in an aussie accent.

What was the deal with them having to grind down the front stretch or something?

I caught it - was awesome ... totally psyched for Will Power to dominate Old Twinkle Toes this season, it's gonna be great.

I guess the road was extra bumpy in the transition from concrete to asphalt on the front stretch.

Funny thing is that I had just finished watching A1GP race at Brands Hatch before went on to watch IRL. I recognized Ryan Hunter-Reay as the driver for USA in A1GP. He is pretty darn good. How come he can't land a full ride for IRL?

Yeah Power is REAL fast. He was showing up Helio and Briscoe a bit last year...... when he was racing, mostly on the RC's. He is my pick for this year no doubt.

Have not sen race yet.  I have Direct TV and just realized this morning, that we have VS channel again......     :)

I'll have to catch a replay.

Ryan Hunter-Reay does have a full time ride with Andretti doesn't he?

That must have been an old A1GP race, JR Hildebrand ran at Brands most recently. And put Marco to shame I might add. He's another dude that's real fast.

If tracking down older A1GP's to watch, for american performances I recommend Phil Giebler at Zandvoort back in like, 06/07 ... and Jon Summerton in China ... 07/08 (i think).

Good shit.
