Title: The LMC P1 World Championship Post by: rip|Lumacor on April 21, 2010, 06:30:52 AM What follows are a repost of thoughts I've had for some time and recently verbalised on facebook. Comments and suggestions are taken on-board, and good ideas incorporated into my own fantasy world of running my own elite racing series! I'm Bernie and Max all rolled into one :D
"Things F1 needs: *£100m budget cap (+additional 10% allowance if supplying other team with engines free of charge) *Larger tyres overall (+25% current size) *Smaller wings (at least 50% of current size)... See more *Adjustable wings (driver operated) *Wider cars (think 1997) *Qualifying tyre IS your race tyre. So if you qualify soft, you race soft for the duration. *Multiple tyre manufacturers *3 Tyre types (dry) - Hard [full race distance] Medium [require 1 stop] Soft [requires 2 stops] *Unrestricted ERS usage (not limited to Kinetic). *Engine Development only frozen for 1 year *Engines supplied to other teams must be same spec as current Manufacturer engine (if competing) *Engines tendered by third parties (eg Cosworth) supplied at no more than £2.5mill each *Engines and Gearboxes to last 2 races. *Unrestricted engine sizes and spec (bearing in mind budget cap) *Introduce 107% season rule for new teams at final pre-season test / 1 non-championship sprint race - failure for 1 team driver to achieve fastest / avg. lap time within 107% of leader means failure for team entry to season. *Drivers on FOM payroll, teams bid for 2 season contracts from part of their budget (if team uses gp2/f2 champ from past 2 years then teams actually receive money, for year 1 +£2mill, year 2 +£1mill) *Ground effect skirting permitted - Buz *still thinking of other things... I want my own series really... All ideas Copyright of Luke Corradi 2010 ;)" NB: Tyre/fuel rules idea - if you elect to qual/race with: Fuel - Refuelling banned. Hard tyres (no colour) - you may not pit for tyres or fuel during the race... See more Medium (gold ring around outside tyre wall) - you must make at least 1 stop during the race Soft (red ring around outside tyre wall [bit like in Indycar])- You must make at least 2 stops during the race Rule number 245b. Tech sharing: At the END of every season, each team MUST share information regarding ERS, chassis, aero, brakes engines as specs were at the BEGINNING of the season. This means constant advancement and development in ideas and tech. Effectively, information shared will be 2 seasons old, and the current season will have passed and next season's car will already be developed.
