Title: Who's got a PS3? (Gran Turismo talk)
Post by: rip|ChITty on September 02, 2010, 03:20:02 PM
I'm getting more than a little pumped for this.  Anyone else?

I will be buying a ps3 just for this game alone. I am pumped!

Did you see that not all cars will have cockpit view? only 200 will

I am looking forward to seeing how they did on the Nascar and the IRL.

My understanding is that the IRL is not included and that was reported in error.  The karting and world rally car stuff is a bit more interesting to me anyway.

Karting? Are you refering to the kickass looking go-karts? :)

I did a google search and can not for the life of me find an official car list. FAIL

I do not have PS3 and generally have no interest is consoles of any sort.

However, this game does look pretty epic and I'm going to actually give it consideration. Wish I could be confident it would support my particular wheel, that would help.

What wheel do you have?

I am googling it now.

This is what I found out about the Momo.

Quote
The wheel has been around in the PC world for something like a decade, so it is well supported in the non-console world. GT3 supported it, GT4 dropped it, then Prologue picked up mediocre support. Who knows what GT5 will give us?

Chitty do you have GT5 prologue? What steering wheel do you use with it if you do?

I have the Logitech Momo Force (Red).

I saw a mention of it in the GT forums as having support for steering, pedals and shifters only, none of the buttons seem to be configurable.

Oh I read that the top 4 buttons can be configured

here is the post explaining how to do it.....

The thing is that there isn't much official info on this game. They haven't released an official car list (not that I can find) and there is no official hardware support for it either.

This wiki page says that any PS3 compatible wheel will work with GT5 prologue. So there is a chance that yours would work.

I will risk it and buy a ps3 and the game and if my wheel doesn't work then I guess I will buy my 3rd wheel.

But I am not going to be a day one adopter on the game. It comes in November and I might get it for Christmas or something.

Yh, those instructions aren't for my wheel, i guess it would have to be a try and see (or maybe someone will post more info on their experiences).

I'll continue to jsut think about it for now.

I have the logitech momo and it works well with GT5 Prologue.  I haven't played much with the buttons, but I know the top 4 buttons did something, but I don't remember what.  As the game has a rear view mirror at the top of the screen, I've haven't fiddled with the buttons to look backwards or make them do something else.

gtplanet.net has probably the best information I've found yet.

Since it's been announced that you can import your cars from GT5 and the PSP version, those at a minimum are final (which includes a Ferrari F1 2007).
