Title: My First Custom Built Gaming PC Post by: rip|mrkavanagh on October 14, 2010, 06:51:01 AM It took me about an hour to put it all together. The CPU heat was a biatch to install. Took 2 and half hours to install the OS and all system software and drivers, tweak the bios settings and run the tests. I still have some tweaking to do to the bios settings to get the memory timings correct. I am very impressed with the Cooler Master case. It was a very easy install.
Now my HDD is the bottleneck, so hopefully next month or so I will get an SSD. Future upgrades include 8 more gigs of memory, larger PSU and a second GTX460 Specs CPU = AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Memory = CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Mobo = ASUS M4N75TD AM3 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard Case = COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN2 CM690 II Advanced Black Steel ATX Mid Tower (Dimensions = 20.80" x 8.40" x 20.10") GPU = ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU TOP/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card PSU = Thermaltake TR2 W0379RU 500W ATX 12V v2.2 Power Supply OS = Windows 7 Professional 64bit (http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/2200/dscf5644.jpg) (http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/4905/dscf5643t.jpg) (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/7522/indexev.jpg) (http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/8818/scoreh.jpg) (http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/5540/resultsb.jpg) (http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/6978/futuremark.jpg) Title: Re: My First Custom Built Gaming PC Post by: rip|forkev on October 14, 2010, 07:14:06 AM finally

Will be curious about fps in F1 2010 with maxed everything :) Title: Re: My First Custom Built Gaming PC Post by: rip|mrkavanagh on October 14, 2010, 01:13:43 PM Would be a nice case for a media server, raid up a bunch of 2TB's. Here is the PRODUCT SHEET for it http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/upload/download/192/files/CM%20690%20II%20Advanced%20product%20sheet_0128.pdf (http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/upload/download/192/files/CM%20690%20II%20Advanced%20product%20sheet_0128.pdf) I too am very curious at the FPS on F1 2010. Hopefully I will get to try it out tonight after my son's soccer game. |
