Post by: rip|bonuspoints on November 05, 2010, 03:53:38 PM I don't think you will see a huge performance difference between the 280 and 480. I would just buy another 280 and put them in SLI.
The 480 will require more power but provide more on board memory, directx 11 support and more CUDA cores. There is a sweet comparison chart on Nvidias web site http://www.nvidia.com/content/HelpMeChoose/fx2/HelpMeChoose.asp?lang=en-us (http://www.nvidia.com/content/HelpMeChoose/fx2/HelpMeChoose.asp?lang=en-us) Title: Re: upgrade time for graphics card what do you guys have?? Post by: denied- on November 05, 2010, 05:26:26 PM running nvidia 275's in SLI @ 1920x1200
BC2 avg about 100fps, haven't played in sometime so I don't remember exaclty wasn't the FPS locked in MW2 at 60? Title: Re: upgrade time for graphics card what do you guys have?? Post by: rip|Badley on November 05, 2010, 05:41:20 PM I'm using Radeon HD 5750 PCI 1024 MB GDDR5
Title: Re: upgrade time for graphics card what do you guys have?? Post by: rip|MightyMax on November 06, 2010, 05:34:56 AM I've been using a GTX 260m in my laptop without any issues.
My desktop has a GTX 285 overclocked. I have not felt the need to upgrade yet. My take would be unless you are trying to run the game at extremely high resolutions I'm not sure you would really see or feel a performance upgrade worth the $$$. Unless of course you wish to jump into a SLI configuration. Title: Re: upgrade time for graphics card what do you guys have?? I am using 1 Asus GTX 460 1gb Crysis and Crysis Warhead pre-select all settings on high with resolution of 1920x1600 with 70-80fps. F1 2010 runs at a smooth 60fps with all settings on Ultra running in DX11 mode. Here is the link to the card I got. I am currently only running a 80plus 500watt PSU Wow the price has dropped!!! I paid $244.99 on Sept 13th http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121389&cm_re=asus_gtx_460-_-14-121-389-_-Product PC specs AMD Athlon II x4 3.0ghz 8gb Corsair (2 x 4gb) DDR3 1333 ASUS GTX 460 1gb Thermaltake 80plus 500 watt psu Title: Re: upgrade time for graphics card what do you guys have?? Title: Re: upgrade time for graphics card what do you guys have?? Post by: rip|bonuspoints on November 06, 2010, 09:55:39 PM I would personly hold off from upgrading.
