never played arma II, but this seemed interesting

I have Arrowhead and have played it a bit. Been trying to get some of the other guys to look into it. I've been watching the zombie mods for Arma2 for a while now. Just watching the videos are hilarious. Definitely need to have a group of us together to help deal with the long ass travel time with the DayZ.

If anyone else is interested in this, I will re-download Arma2 and then get the mod this week. Not sure when I will actually be able to play though ???

I saw that video the other day and thought to myself what great potential for a zombie game. That was until I saw the zombies run. I wish modders would just leave zombie runners to the L4D series. Instead of running why not just compensate by hordes of zoms and little ammo. Make it a survival RPG FPS sim.

There might be a way on the server side to modify the zombies. If anyone has time, they could look into that. I'm not sure what it cost to run an ArmA server. And if we had enough of us playing, why not give it a try?

The Dayz servers have recently been compromised by a botnet. Thought that was interesting.

Got ArmaII and dayz mod. Played it for about 3 hours and now I am instantly hooked. I thought the running zombies would be lame but they are not that bad. The game is in alpha so there are a lot of bugs which make the game fun.

Gameplay log:
1st server: Throws me in a city at nighttime cant see jack. Leave server
2nd server: Same city at nighttime. Leave server.
3rd server: Same location at night again. I crank up the in-game gamma setting. and start walking for 10min. Hear zombies but can't see anything.

Google break: "dayz server daytime"

4th server: Found daylight server. Walked to 3 cities got tagged by a few zombies but still alive. Found some helicoptor parts. I never found a gun. Came across several player's and called out friendly. They were mostly busy running from zombies.

This little mod is insanely fun. And very popular there were 200,000+ players online playing. let me know if anyone want's to do a searching party.

I have been playing this for the  last 3 day's. It is serious fun!

If you want to play or get it I recommend downloading zcommander to find servers. The 6launcher is more buggy then the mod.

Update:
Mofficer and I are regulars now. We can guide any new players. We can get you all the gear you need. We mainly just go for friendly player servers so you dont have to worry about pvp situations as much.

Last night we scored our first huey heli. Mostly searching for crash sites with good loot but that was a waste compared to what we found. We spotted from the air a huge camp loaded with equipment. This is a super rare find in game. dayZ is still more entertaining then most new titles and defiantly holding our interest. Go out and get it!

I found a new way to launch the game, via Dayz Commander. I recommend using this to update the game, mod, and search.
