Title: Complete Rebuild Post by: rip|Dusty on August 28, 2012, 09:26:25 AM Lads,
Returned from camping to find that my PC was screwed with a virus or hack or something. I think with all the effort seeking better CoD performance before I left that I'd accidentally left my AV and FW disabled, so the box was left on the Internet for the week with its pants down. Good thing it's just a gaming box. I've factory reloaded it (gotta love Alienware's "AlienSpawn" factory image reload capability) and then of course spent the rest of the night piling on Windows Updates, drivers, etc. and downloading my games again. Anyway, back up & running clean now. Cheers, Dusty Title: Re: Complete Rebuild Post by: rip|buzinator on August 29, 2012, 07:17:26 AM ouch! But yh, at least it wasn't worse.

Sorry to hear about the reload, but at least you have the recovery option to give you a boost. Title: Re: Complete Rebuild Post by: rip|Dusty on August 29, 2012, 04:22:09 PM LoL Mighty ;D
Hey, I've upgraded to the latest Nvidia driver (301.42) and I'm wondering if anyone is running this ver as well on a GForce 500 or 600 series card? I'm running the 560 and I'd like to know what you have set for your Nvidia options with the goal of making CoD run as best as possible. I've ran through and set the parameters as per Ripper's other thread (I'll insert the link to it as soon as I find it) on the config.mp file tweaks. Here's my Nvidia settings so far (just the ones I changed from defaults):

As long as I remember to keep Ambient Occlusion OFF I'm good with MW3.... Both in the device settings and in the game "advanced graphics" menu. Title: Re: Complete Rebuild Post by: rip|Dusty on August 29, 2012, 05:09:22 PM Modified my setup accordingly - thanks mate!
