yoyo,

I'm planning to try using the next few Wednesdays to attempt some rFactor antics.

Everyone is invited and I'm trying to do as much as possible on the front end to make it easy to jump in. I'm putting together a small collection of fun cars and tracks ... ultimately the only thing that will remain is each user's preferences & controller configs.

Concepts:

- Lawnmowers on a dirt, figure-8 track.

- Top Gear-style time trials, be a 'Star in a reasonably slow car'. To be held on the Top Gear Test Track, using the base vehicle that comes with rFactor Lite and a fixed setup.

- 1-on-1, series using the Race of Champions track.

- Megane touring cars

- FBMW open-wheelers

- Dover, high-banked, 1-mile Oval

- The Norisring, simple but fun street circuit

- Donington Park, classic British road course, familiar to both TOCA & GRID players.

Side note: I'm also building a track collection to include many venues from Toca3 and GRID, so interested folks can get straight into things.

UPDATE: I'm pretty close to having a downloadable package of the above mods. I'm actually tweaking the nosecam view for the FBMW's, the default is way up high in the air and is very hard to drive with. Not sure wtf the authors were thinking with that. Anyway, I'll announce it when it's ready and up...

FYI - With school starting up next week my schedule's going to be changing some ... My regular rFactor schedule will be Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Might do other nights but they'd be casual/impromptu ... will try to make a habit of being online in either xfire or msn if folks want to hit me up.

Hullo there.

Would be most interested in some rfactor shenanigans. Planning on initially using standard rFactor cars and tracks then I take it? And then developing from there?

That's kinda the plan yep ... at least introducing new items slowly. I feel a lot of new players get lost and frustrated by downloading a million mods, so I'm trying to regulate things and avoid overwhelming folks.

Currently we're messing around with the default Kodi ZR (SRGP Mod) on the Top Gear test track, available on rfactorcentral.com (1.0 + 1.1 update).

I'll probably be online over the weekend sometime. perhaps sunday at 11am-ish US EST (4pm GMT).
Ours is usually the only Top Gear server, so it shouldn't be too hard to find if you sort by circuit. Wink

I make everything available, to encourage anyone and everyone to give it a shot. Turning them off is up to you. Whatever you're comfortable with or makes you faster, go for it.
