need help with a corrupt active x files

i have some software work related that when I go to click on the item(part) it tries to open and I get a yellow exclmation mark sttating it couldnt open the item due to a active x error....i have tried replacing files....checking secuirty settings...any ideas on how to fix this error...i read on google its most likely a corrupt file?
