According to the guys over at PlayStation Universe, they have received a leaked list of the perks for Call of Duty: World at War. Take a look at this rumored list:

PlayStation Universe is proud to present the complete list of unlockable Perks for the upcoming Treyarch title, Call of Duty: World at War. Many of the perks from Modern Warfare are making a return, though there are quite a few new additions to the list. Take a look for yourself at the complete list below.

To begin with, new search preferences option have been included in the matchmaking screen. This means its easier for you to form a squad with a band of randoms who are more likely to be the same skill level as you (if you're not a fan of playing with strangers you can you party privacy to close you game to outsiders). To help you fine tunes thing even further, the lobby leaderboard will display stats specific to the matches you played as a group, so you can find the weakest link.

Class of '45

CoD4's character class system is making a return to, allowing you to define your weapons and bonus abilities according to the class you choose. classes include riflemen, light & heavy assault and support roles, and several other unconfirmed units.
Should you fancy a change mid game, you can simply bring up the pause menu, select your desired job and the next time you die, you'll respawn a new man.

This then ties in with CoD's ego stroking prestige system. In Modern Warfare, youd earn XP points for every man you killed, which would level you and your weapons up unlocking new perks and options along the way, Once you hit lvl 55, you had the option to reset back to level 1. Even though this meant you lost all your hard earned perks and gear, bout you'd be rewarded with a shiny new medal indicating you bad-assed skills.
this could be repeated nine times. However in WaW not only will you get kudos, youll unlock additional class slots, meaning that by the time you prestige ten times you'll have access to all ten character classes mid battle.

The weapons you start with will depend on what class you choose. As well as guns youll be given frags, Molotov cocktails, sticky grenades, bouncing betties and smoke grenades.
However the best new arnaments are the gas bombs and signal flares. Drop a gas bomb and anyone caught in its area of effect will be stunned leaving the wide open to attack. Meanwhile, the signal flare will unleash a vicious volume of white light. Lay down a row of them and you'll blind the enemy, making them ripe for a shooting.

Of course, with new weapons comes new perks. Perks were the star feature of CoD4, providing players with special abilities like faster sprinting, increased damage, or the ability to drop a grenade when you're killed.
WaW's perks will include Flak Jacket(saves your life against a single grenade attack), Shades (reduces the effect of a signal flare) and gas mask (grants immunity to gas attacks.) Recon Boosts are also available and oh yeah, now you can get a selection of sweet vehicle perks...

If any game can top last year's monumental Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, it's Call of Duty World At War. Not only can you take out your anger on other players, but you can also work alongside them in a new online co-op mode. We recently went a few rounds with a version of the game.
In competitive multiplayer, we played several matches in a beautiful Shanghai-like city, draped with beautiful tapestries, cobblestone structures and plenty of lethal opposition. We shot our fair share of enemy soldiers and dogs while also using our knives for up-close executions. If you successfully kill three enemies without dying, you receive a perk. This could be a lethal air strike or a temporary map that shows you enemy locations, depending on which side you're playing. The air strike is outstanding, letting you pummel unsuspecting team members from the heavens. (The camera replay is particularly sick, as you can track a bomb until it lands on your skull.)

Perks are a huge part of World At War. Just wait until you see what the Perk Three list, consisting of Iron Lungs, Reconnaissance and Martyrdom, have in store for you. Vehicular perks are here as well, and the ranking system will make a return. Each kill brings you closer to the next level of military excellence.

In co-op multiplayer, four soldiers work together as one cohesive unit. Real-time scores of the four teammates are kept on-screen, with the score going up for each kill. Points multiply depending on style and location of your kills, so headshots are the way to go. Stay alive long enough and they'll build in a hurry. You also earn points reviving fallen teammates, which only takes a few seconds but leaves you vulnerable to gunfire. (On a side note, it's awesome how you can shoot enemies with a pistol, even after you sustain an injury.)

We went through two separate maps in co-op. The first is a sandy battlefield, littered with both U.S. and Japanese tanks. Laying a well-placed C4 charge or picking up a bazooka allow you to destroy them.. One particular challenge, though, is the fortified bunker. It's hard to fire bullets inside because of the cover fire coming from both turrets. Fortunately, the flamethrower letsYou shoot inside the windows.

The second map takes place in a torn-apart German city. Throughout the stage, you and members of your unit will constantly go in and out of buildings, shooting enemies and finding cover. Constant bombing eventually leads you to an abandoned train station and water tunnel. You'll have to work your way through the train cars before moving into the tunnel, fighting soldiers as you go. It comes to a huge conclusion when the tunnel suddenly fills with water, engulfing both you and the bad guys.

What's cool about World At War is how the graphics and audio keep up with every step of the action. Even when the screen floods with enemies, there's no lack of detail. We didn't experience one single disconnection, glitches or lag. Soldiers constantly bark orders, weapons go off dramatically and the attention to detail is extraordinary. One striking moment came in a night time Capture the Flag village stage. After taking out several soldiers, we had to stop for a second and admire a nearby stream, with water shimmering in the moonlight.

October 8, 2008 - When everyone heard that Treyarch would be returning to helm development on the next installment in the heralded Call of Duty series, the gaming world let out a sigh of trepidation. Not to say that Call of Duty 3 (the last game in the series to be developed at Treyarch) was a bad game, it just wasn't up to the vaunted standards of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

I recently got to spend some time with the four-player co-op campaign as well as the competitive multiplayer beta that is set to hit the Internet sometime before the game launches. Being a huge fan of Call of Duty 4, it was going to take something special to impress me. Luckily Treyarch had something on deck that would do exactly that.


The biggest problem with Call of Duty 3 was that it was too much like other games in the series. It was World War II, featured no real difference in core gameplay and was set in Europe. We had seen all of that before. World at War puts us in the Pacific Theater, a piece of World War II that has gone nearly untouched in the videogame world and gives us brand spankin' new four-player cooperative gameplay that follows the entire campaign mode. As if that wasn't enough, there's also a structure built around the competitive multiplayer that is reminiscent of COD4 while still changing it in a few important ways to keep things fresh.

The four-player co-op match that I hopped into started up without a hitch and presented my squad and I with a tree-shrouded river bed that we needed to progress along. An interesting touch to World at War's co-op gameplay is that it isn't just the four human-controlled soldiers venturing onto the field of battle, but instead you're with an entire squad of men. That's an important fact that ups the intensity when you get into some of the more serious standoffs, something that I was about to encounter.

Before long the river gave way to a huge, dirt-ridden battlefield with enemy tanks and troops that needed to be taken out. Vehicles pay an important role in the multiplayer in COD: World at War as you'll now be able to hop into them while playing competitively. Sadly I had to play the part of demolition man while in co-op mode. Before long my men and I made our way to a multi-tiered structure with gun placements and soldiers firing down on us. It was a standoff that had to be waded through, not rushed as I learned through several deaths of my own.


When you die in World at War's co-op play you're alive for a certain amount of time until you bleed. It's in that window that your friendly soldiers can revive you, but doing so usually means putting themselves in harm's way.

It was on my third or fourth life that I realized I just needed to hang back with my crew and pick off soldiers one by one. I'd just leave it to the peon AI controlled soldiers to run out and get killed. And so they did. Not in a dumb way, but in a way that made it obvious that their intention was to push our frontline forward and push the enemy back. Sadly that didn't exactly work. It's that feeling of watching your comrades run to their death while three actual people are screaming into your ear about how they're being pinned down by mortar and tank shells, that really sells the co-op play in World at War.
Oh, and did I forget to mention that a latter part of the mission had us sticking the end of the new M2 Flamethrower into a bunker a flaming the Japanese soldiers inside? Yeah, it was cool. Or was it hot?

Not to be outdone, the competitive multiplayer has also made a few additions to the tried and true formula that worked so well in COD4. You can still level up your character and unlock new perks and you can still earn prestige several times over (though this time you get a reward for doing so), but there are a few important differences. First of all, perks now include the ability to sprint while crawling, climb trees faster, play dead, and swim faster among others.


Not only that, but in-game rewards have changed a bit as well. Now instead of getting a UAV for three kills in a row, an airstrike for five and a gunship for seven, you'll get a recon plane for three, an artillery barrage for five, and a pack of wild rabid dogs for seven. Yes, you read that right, you'll actually be able to unleash a pack of dogs that go around looking for enemy soldiers to devour. You'll also no longer have the opportunity to stab those suckers in the neck when they pounce on you, making your tracking ability important when trying to gun them down on the fly.

The other two rewards performed exactly as you remember despite their different names. Oh, and having both Keifer Sutherland and Gary Oldman in your ear at all times yelling out things like, "Release the dogs!" and "Our Recon Plane'll find 'em!" is truly awesome. It's like a scene from 24 and Air Force One all wrapped in one!

Tanks are a big change to the multiplayer that should provide some help to those put off by the twitch-oriented nature of the COD gameplay. Two players can hop into the massive machine, one at the gunner and one in the main driver's seat. Interestingly enough, the man sitting on top at the gunner seat can actually take cover if things get too hot.


Yes, the multiplayer gameplay of Call of Duty: World at War <http> was a pleasant surprise. While it certainly felt similar to Modern Warfare, it did what appears to be enough to keep it near the top of the pack. The co-op is fast and even more intense than the single-player campaign promises to be and the competitive multiplayer packs a similar punch as I remember, but this time with the excitement of vehicles thrown in. World War II might be a familiar battleground for some gamers, but Call of Duty: World at War looks like it could show it off in a whole new light.

Call of Duty: World at War is set to release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 11.

I guess war is objective based, but you still haev to capture flag points?  and you buil;d experience...onmce you get to BLITZKREIG STATUS YOU CAN CAP FLAGS FASTER?

-ALSO There is 650 levels of the game basically it will take forever to level out cause there is 13 presitage ranks and with each presitage rank you unlock more custom classes slots!!!
