OK I'll bite.

It is generally OK now, but I am still getting the occasional slowdown.  Sometimes I just give up and try to get to the forum later in the day.  I think one day it was around 3:00pm

do you think that's common, that it happens more in the afternoon than morning or night?

jfyi - i have:
- enabled gzip compression to faciliitate faster data transfers of html/php code
- I've had nemi do a new banner in flash, filesize is <50KB, old one was >800KB
- Replaced some smaller, repeating gfx with txt equivalents
- disabled WYSIWYG editor for content posting, was a large javascript.
- moved match server demos off to a different FTP (thx again nemi)

Hopefully that stuff will help.

Some things I suspect aren't making things faster:
- people using linked avatars with invalid URLs
- people having large graphical sigs.

No I get the slowness just trying to connect to the main website.  It is like found server, waiting for response, and it sits there and sits there, and I give up.
