What OS do you plan to run Ripper?  XP, Vista, or 64-bit Vista?

If you're staying 32-bit then you won't recognize all 4 GB of RAM, so may as well go with 2GB.   If you want to have this system for awhile and might go to 64-bit, then go for the 4GB.

I don't think it's worth the extra money to go with Intel over AMD.  Many years back, yes, but not now.

Because we're gamers, all our horsepower needs to be focused on the video card(s).  Therefore, a dual-core (as opposed to quad-core) is fine.  As far a Ghz go, 3.0 is nice.

My x-fire profile is updated with my rig if you want to check it out, but it's an Alienware.  This sucker has a 1KW supply, it's liquid cooled, and was making to room so warm I ended up running a flex-duct from it's exhaust fan to the cold air return in the ceiling.  Better now. Smiley
