FYI, I ran a test race on Valencia last night with my new ballast and wow am I going to have a tough time tonight.  I was really pushing and I qualied 19th.  The good news is that the AI is a buttload faster in qualifying than they really are in the race so I ended up 10th, but had a decent shot at 5th until I lost focus and screwed up.

Here's my replay leading up to the final incident with Bretware.

Towards the beginning, on turn 11...that pretty much sucked for both of us. I don't think my move to pass some AI was any less warranted than Bretware's. I got on my brakes early, he hit me. So what.

Following that, I went 4 off on turn 1. In hind sight, had I known it was a fellow human behind me, I would have lifted long enough for Bretware to pass.

I cut corner 2 pretty tight but that's the line I chose. Not a block.

The final incident is the one that really befuddles me though. As far as I know, I didn't do anything wrong here. If I did, I'd like for someone to explain it to me. Really.

This was a short track and I was afraid you guys would start to lap me. When you see me on the horizon, announce you are approaching and I'll keep an eye out for you and try to find a good spot to lift (not like turn 10 where it caused Chitty to rear end me).

this looks like a racing incident to me.

It all could have been avoided had both parties announced themselves. you have to be the spotter for the other driver and let them know what you are going to do.

Also during a race is not the time to vent your anger towards an incident. It was very distracting last night for the rest of the drivers.

Lets move and start focusing on the next race where I will win and lap everyone!

If I understand things, this was for position after Bret pitted ... in which case Toadly was under no obligation to let Bret by.

This incident is officially under review by CLAN (not racing league) Leadership. Results will be provisional until announced otherwise.

Yeah I think everything is all good Toad.  I would say that we should get you his car skin, because there's no way you can miss that pink thing in your mirrors (in reference to your rejoining the track item).  

Also, I'm really sorry I ran into you, I had no intention of trying to pass at that section of the track, particularly that crazy ass corner.  I was prepared to tuck in behind you and zone out for a bit and wasn't paying 100% attention when you slowed a bit.  Sad

This is true and useful ... I assume Bret has Toadly's skin too?

For unsportsmanlike behavior following an incident, including (but not limited to) excessive domination of the Ventrilo channel and threats of retribution, Bretware is subject a 20sec penalty ... suspended for 2 races.

If no further infractions occur in the next 2 races, said penalty will be lifted.

well in my opinion i know i would be upset if i was in bret's position, but i would be deserving of the penalty since

A. I came in the corner hot and the replay shows that there is no way that i could have made the turn.
B. the way i handled myself after said incident. Overly expressing that I was going to cause harm to the other driver if i caught up to him.
C. distracted all other racing members by taking over vent and being distracting.

IMHO the vent issue is where the problem arose. I would take the penalty and kick ass the rest of the season.

I know it was breaking my concentration with all the yelling going on.

I dont think there is really any reason for this become an argument.


All drivers should make their selves known during the race.

No one should expect a free pass when fighting for position.

If you are trying to over take let them know.

This was on lap 15.

Do not vent your frustrations on VENT when everyone is driving.

We could argue this all night and the thread get lock and feelings get hurt, or, or we could move on and learn from this.
