Preparations are now well underway for the film, which will be an action documentary charting the history of the sport but focusing especially on the period between 1968 and 1982.

Driven was pretty appalling ... yet i still love it also Smiley

I think they've chosen a great period to cover in this one. Hopefully it will be successful and they'll want to do more ... say, from 85 thru 95 or something. Smiley

I have not seen many racing flicks, but the oldie Grand Prix is my fav. It has the best cinematography of cars i have ever seen and it was the first to do many of the shots you see in modern films today. It followed the real life 65 F1 season, but used different names and actors for the characters. Many of the shots you see are from the actual F1 races. Lots of great on board footage of the old circuits.

This one sounds good, old F1 cars are awesome.

Agreed - Grand Prix is an absolute classic. I'm totally impressed that a younger guy like yourself has even heard of it! Smiley

Have you ever seen Le Mans with Steve McQueen? Weirdly short on dialog, a real atmosphere piece.

Those are the top 2 no doubt.  Both classics.

I caught a sweet documentary a couple of months ago called "Love the beast".  It was about actor Eric Bana and his highschool mates than built a car for one of the targa's in Aus or NZ.  Good story and great cinematog and POV.  It was REALLY good!!
