Titan Mode

Real-Time Persistence

Network Battlefield
There is also a new feature for squads, Network Battlefield, another attempt by DICE to improve squad play.
Network Battlefield is similar to the "Spotting" system of BF2, but the difference is that it only takes a glace by one of your squad members to look at an enemy, and the rest of the squad will see him on their 3D-map and also as a red diamond shape in the game itself. These diamond indicators even show through walls, if another squad member has line of sight.

Thanks to unlocks and depending on the class a soldier in your squad is playing, you can see even more data:
Recon: NetBat Fade Delay causes the effect to stay longer.
Assault: NetBat Infantry ID shows the kit the targeted infantry is using.
Engineer: NetBat Vehicle ID displays if the target is in a vehicle and which type of vehicle.
Support: NetBat Active Camo ID shows the activating cloaks.

The regular spotting system from BF2 is still in the game and you can use it to expose enemies for the whole team. NetBat info is only available to your squad.

Active Defence

Active Defence is a new defence mechanism for most ground assualt vehicles, which basically replaces the "smoke screen" that vehicles had in Battlefield 2.
The new system is different, and more efficient. When you press X, the Active Defence takes effect, and creates an energy bubble around your vehicle. This bubble will take any hit, but for a short amount of time. It also takes a while before you can use it again, to make the game balanced.

Field Upgrades
These are temporary unlocks. There is an upgrade bar that once its filled (by doing squad based actions), you can temporarily unlocks stuff that are above your rank. The temporary unlocks lasts as long as you're on a server, and only on that particular server.
